1846. RARE title. Black cloth hardcover with gilt lettering. 285pp. Contains selections of sermons including Guthrie's last sermon from his own scaffold. Issued by the Committee of the General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland for the Publication of the Works of Scottish Reformers and Divines. Henderson (1583-1646) was an outstanding leader who wrote the National Covenant of 1638 and was delegate to the Westminster Assembly. Guthrie was (d.1661) was martyred under the persecution of Scottish Presbyterians instigated by Charles II.
